“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” —Seneca
I am back on the road.
I’ve been off work for sixteen weeks while I recovered from surgery to reattach a tendon and bicep on my left arm.
I had high expectations for myself going in. I knew I would have to be very careful with my arm, and I knew I would have work to do in therapy, but I thought I would be able to pursue my interests in soil restoration.
I did get some things done in that regard, but I am rather disappointed that I didn’t get more done.
I realized some things about myself. I won’t go into all of it here, but I do want to say that I need some new routines in my life. I need to exercise regularly. I need to meditate regularly. I need to write regularly, and I need to pick a direction for Soil Restoration Services.
None of that is simple or easy. In fifteen years on the road I’ve never been able to develop an exercise routine, or a meditation routine, or a writing routine. I wasn’t able while I was home for sixteen weeks either, but the importance is clearer now than ever before.
At sixty-one years old I am at a tipping point. The next ten to twenty years could be healthy and productive, or maybe not. A lot depends on the habits and routines I develop right now.
Up next, a view of the future from where I stand.
